Situated in the wide Baltic bay, the once small fishing village of Binz began to develop into a considerable seaside resort around 1884. Even today the holiday resort is characterised by turn of the century (1800-1900) architecture.
The pedestrian only beach walk by the Baltic, the main street with its cafes, restaurants and shops, and the walk by Schmachter See invite you for a stroll.
An extensive cycle path network, a stretch of the Baltic coastal cycle path along “Park der Sinne” leads you by the hotel and through Granitz forest to the Baltic coastal resorts of Sellin, Baabe and Göhren.
Discover the varied island of Rügen on a journey on the narrow-gauge train “Rasender Roland” just a few minutes walk from our hotel. From the local train station in Binz you can take a worthwhile visit to the neighbouring resorts of Sellin, Baabe and Göhren or to the classicist principality of Putbus, with its circular park and game reserve.
On a boat trip from the sea jetty in Binz or Sellin you can get to know the famous chalk coast, the lighthouses at Kap Arkona and the harbour town Sassnitz all from the view point of the sea.
